We opened a drop-in center for the homeless on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and had begun offering a light evening meal on Saturdays in October of 2003. We offered games, movies, quiet music, reading materials, snacks, fellowship and a place of retreat. People came forward and donated games and snacks. For the same funds, Elaine (Zion's kitchen angel) and her crew were able to provide fabulous meals of meat, potatoes, rice or pasta, vegetables, salads, deserts and drinks. We are now serving as many as 100 people on a Saturday evening.
