Zion United Church of Christ was founded by German immigrants in 1867 in what was then known as University Heights (present day Tremont). Zion Church and its people have a long history of partnership with the people of Cleveland. Our gothic style church building and sanctuary were built on this site in 1885. The school building dates from 1906, when it replaced an earlier school structure. Today our congregation comes from diverse ethnicity, traditions, backgrounds, orientations and ages.

"Good News"

We believe that everyone has a place around God's Table!

Calendar We believe God reaches out through Jesus Christ with the saving "Good News" of God's love available to all people. You'll find a warm welcome and outstretched arms here among us. Zion Church openly affirms as full and equal members all persons who seek the love of God, and who desire to live in covenant relationship with us as faithful disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is no one of any race, color, ethnic origin, ability, gender, age, sexual orientation or identity who is excluded from God's grace. We seek to embody this grace-filled inclusiveness in our worship, programs, membership, mission and social activities.
We believe in outreach and community involvement. We are active participants in the Brookside Center and WSEM - with monthly donations of food items, coupons and cash - and we assist in serving Hunger Center dinners for the Center at Brooklyn Memorial UMC each year. We previously hosted a branch of HappyWorks Daycare and Pre-School and El Barrio. El Barrio held training classes is the lower level of our school building weekday afternoons. Our monthly Rummage Sale of gently used items supplies many people entering the work force with clothes suitable for all manner of work at economical prices. We participate in ecumenical spiritual activities in the Tremont area - including Good Friday, Easter Sunrise, and Thanksgiving Eve worship. We also open our doors for community block groups to meet through Tremont West Development Corp.

Come gather in Worship and join our Community.
